Studio Policy
At Ekantik Studio we are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we look after it and what rights you have under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Ekantik Studio is the data controller for the information described here, and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office. If you have any questions about this policy, please email
info@ekantikstudio.co.uk.
We may collect and store the following personal information:
Data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for using your information. Ours are set out below.
Health information is treated as a special category of personal data and is handled with particular care.
We collect it only where you choose to give it to us, we use it only to keep you safe during your practice, and it is seen only by the teacher taking your class.
It is never used for marketing and is never shared with anyone else without your permission, unless we are required to do so in a medical emergency or by law.
Your information is held in secure, password-protected systems operated by us and by the trusted providers listed in section 7.
Access is limited to those who need it to run the studio. Our providers use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest.
We only keep your personal information for as long as necessary.
After these periods your information is deleted or anonymised.
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the studio. Each processes your data only on our instructions and under a written agreement.
All of these providers are required to comply with the UK GDPR. We do not sell your data, and we never share it for anyone else's marketing.
We will only send you marketing emails if you have asked us to, or if you are an existing student and we are telling you about similar classes and services.
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by clicking it or by emailing info@ekantikstudio.co.uk.
When you book, our booking system asks you separately whether you would like to receive studio updates. Saying no will never affect your ability to book a class.
Our website and booking pages use cookies. Some are essential for the site and the booking basket to work.
Others help us understand how the site is used, or allow content such as embedded booking pages and videos to display.
Non-essential cookies are only set with your agreement, and you can change your choices at any time using the cookie settings on our website.
Some of our providers are based outside the UK. Where your information is transferred abroad, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by the International Data Transfer Agreement, so that it receives the same level of protection as it would at home.
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email info@ekantikstudio.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
Our classes are intended for adults. Where a student is under 18, we ask for a parent or guardian to make the booking and to provide any health information on their behalf.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at info@ekantikstudio.co.uk so we can put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date above and publish the new version on our website.
If the change is significant, we will let you know by email.
If you have any questions or concerns about how your data is handled, please contact us at info@ekantikstudio.co.uk.
